  • What services do you offer?

    At Sanctuary of Self Counselling, we provide individual counselling, group therapy, session packs, and flexible memberships. Services are delivered via telehealth for convenience, accessibility, and safety.

  • What payment options do you accept?

    We accept secure payments via credit card, debit card, and Stripe. You can choose your preferred method at checkout. For session packs and memberships, automated instalment plans are also available to make support more accessible.

  • Do you work with Medicare or Private health insurance?

    Not at this time. Services are not currently eligible for Medicare or private health rebates. All sessions are private pay, with accessible options such as payment plans, session packs, and memberships to help make ongoing care more affordable.

  • How do memberships or session packs work?

    Memberships and session packs offer discounted rates on regular therapy. All sessions must be used within the listed expiry period (e.g. 1–3 months) from the date of purchase. You can track redemptions in your client portal. Missed or unused sessions are non-refundable.

  • Can I cancel or reschedule my session?

    Yes, cancellations or reschedules must be made with at least 24 hours' notice. If you cancel late or do not attend without notice, your session may be forfeited. All clients have up to 3 sessions of grace to reschedule in instances of late cancellations/no-shows.

  • Do you offer urgent or same-day support?

    Urgent bookings may on rare occasions be available for individual clients with short-term needs. These sessions must still be pre-booked. This is not a crisis service. If you're in danger or experiencing an emergency, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or dial 000.

  • Do you offer services for people outside of Melbourne or Australia?

    Yes. All sessions are held online via secure telehealth, so you can access support wherever you're located — including interstate or overseas, depending on time zones. Please note that all booking times are in accordance with the AEST (Melbourne, Sydney) timezone.

  • Is this a safe space for marginalised communities?

    Absolutely. This practice is rooted in intersectional, culturally-safe, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and trauma-informed values. All are welcome here, particularly those navigating marginalisation or diaspora experiences.

  • What if I’m unsure if this is right for me?

    You are welcome to book in our initial consultation which is designed to assess practitioner & client compatibility or reach out via the contact form to explore your needs before committing to a longer-term package or membership.

  • Do you offer concession or sliding scale rates?

    We offer flexible payment options through session packs and memberships. While we don’t offer sliding scale rates, these options provide discounted access to regular support.

  • What is included in the memberships and session packs?

    Each membership or session pack includes a set number of sessions at a discounted rate. You’ll also receive priority booking access and optional check-in tools. See our Memberships or Session Packs page for full details.

  • Do memberships and packs work for weekend bookings too?

    Yes! All memberships and session packs can be used on both weekdays and weekends, with no limitations.

  • Are sessions confidential?

    Yes. All sessions are completely confidential and your information is securely stored on Practice Better. We only break confidentiality where required by law or to prevent serious harm.

  • What do I need for a telehealth session?

    You’ll need a stable internet connection, a quiet private space, and a phone or computer with a camera and microphone. A secure session link will be emailed to you before your appointment.

  • What if I arrive late to my session?

    Sessions will end at the scheduled time, even if you arrive late. If you’re more than 15 minutes late without contact, the session may be cancelled and considered a no-show, with no refund issued.
